What the site offers
Frame Palace publishes ideas and general guidance on gallery walls, picture frames and wall art. It is free to read. Nothing on the site is for sale.
General guidance, not professional advice
The articles are general information. They are not written for your particular wall, home or tenancy.
- Check before you drill. Walls can hide pipes and electrical cables. Use a detector, and stop if you are unsure.
- Match the fixing to the wall and the weight. A fixing that holds in solid masonry may fail in plasterboard. Follow the weight rating given by the maker of the hook, anchor or adhesive strip, and weigh heavy frames and mirrors rather than guessing.
- Take care above beds, sofas and cots. Anything hung over a place where someone sits or sleeps should be light or very securely fixed.
- Renters: check your tenancy agreement before making holes or using adhesives that may mark paint.
