Editorial Policy
This page describes how articles on Frame Palace are chosen, written and checked. It describes what is actually done, not an ideal.
Choosing topics
Topics come from the questions people ask about hanging pictures: which layout suits a small room, how far apart frames should be, what to put above a bed. An article is written when there is something specific and useful to say about one of them.
How an article is written
- Drafting. The text is drafted with AI writing tools, working from a title, a description of the reader and a set of written rules.
- Pictures first. In idea collections, each section is written from its picture, so the text describes what is shown.
- One job per article. Each article answers one question. Collections explain why each arrangement works, so a reader can adapt it instead of copying it.
What every article is checked for
Before an article is published it is checked against written rules. The main ones:
- No invented statistics, studies or survey results.
- No invented brand names, product names or prices.
- No personal anecdotes presented as real experience.
- Measurements and rules of thumb are given as starting points, with the reason behind them, so you can adjust them for your room.
- Each description is compared with its picture, and corrected where the two disagree.
- Safety matters, such as weight, fixings and hanging things above beds, are stated plainly.
Pictures
Pictures are AI-generated illustrations and are labelled as such at the top of each article that uses them. See the AI content policy.
Corrections
If an article is wrong, it should be fixed. Write to hello@framepalace.com with the address of the article and the problem. Confirmed errors are corrected in the article, and the "updated" date under the title changes when an article is revised.
Updates
Articles are revised when something in them goes out of date or a reader points out a gap.
Independence
Frame Palace is not affiliated with any frame maker, retailer or printing service, and no company has paid to appear in an article. The site currently has no advertising or affiliate links. If it adds either, advertisers will have no say over what is written, and any article with paid links will carry a notice at the top.
